Petite Wonders
We’re smitten with these small lilies. Acting more like a complimentary spray flower than an attention-seeking star of the show, the following lilies offer a refreshing alternative to the large flowers many growers and designers are accustomed to.
Here are 3 specialty asiatic hybrids with dainty blooms. They are fast to flower and pollen-free, too!
Orange Cocotte
Approximately 80 days to bloom from planting. 2.5 inch (diameter) flowers.
Orange Cocotte charms with many sunny blooms per stem. They are unscented and pollen-free. We love that Orange Cocotte reads (visually) as very different than other lilies. It can compliment designs with larger lilies like Zelmira without feeling lily-heavy.
Must See
Approximately 75 days to bloom. 2.5 inch (diameter) flowers.
For something special and different, try “Must See”. This lily (along with Hulk) blooms in orange/green. Must See is smaller and spotted, sporting ruffled double petals. In the superhero world, it’s like the funky sidekick to “Hulk.”
Corsage
Approximately 90 days to bloom. 2-inch (diameter) flowers.
Corsage caught our eye several years ago at lily show in The Netherlands. We knew immediately that it needed to be part of our collection and we had to wait a couple of years to be able to pull it into out line up. Corsage blooms float like sweet butterflies. They remind me of orchids - adorable, flighty, elegant.
We know we’ll never have a season without them again at our own farm if we can help it.
Interested in other petite-flowered lilies? Try adding some martagons to your collection. They are great for perennializing in cold climates and come in a wide range of colors. Have a look at our web catalogue for availability.
