Growing Eucomis (Pineapple Lily)

Ready to bring something different to your customers this summer? Eucomis are just the ticket! And they’re easy to grow, too! This bulb crop blooms between mid July and mid August on our farm in Northern New York.

Eucomis Autumnalis.

Eucomis are hardy in USDA zones 8 to 10, but they are easy to lift and store in colder areas (treat them like dahlias and prevent them from freezing).

We plant our eucomis bulbs into crates of soilless mix and grow them in rows outside. We find them to be tolerant to drying out and periods of being over watered (we don’t watch over them much and have great results!). Here is a brief video with some crate growing tips.

You can find wholesale prices and quantities for Eucomis Autumnalis and Eucomis Bicolor in our Spring Bulbs catalogue. Let us know if you have any questions. We think this you’ll love this one. And take a moment to browse through the other spring bulbs, roots, and liners. We’ve sourced some beautiful plants for 2026!
