An Introduction to Ampersand Bulb Co.

Hello and welcome!

We’re thrilled to be here under a new name that says,

“YES, WE ARE A BULB COMPANY!”

We began as flower farmers and farmer-florists (at Little Farmhouse Flowers), but we were hungry for products that we couldn’t easily get ourselves, so we set out to begin collecting bulbs and bare roots from the world’s best growers. We have a motto here: “Everything is figure-out-able”. We decided to figure out how to build a bulb company.

We are so grateful for the tremendous response we’ve seen from our customers in response to our specialty products, dedicated quality control measures, prompt communication, and transparent processes. See what they have to say about our products and service here.

We took things slowly at first to establish personal relationships with our suppliers and to learn the quality of their products and the necessary processes to bring them to growers across the US and Canada. After our first season of importing a distributing products that demand from our customers increased 10 fold. In our 3rd season, demand nearly doubled from the year before. We began with tulips, but now we offer tulips, daffodils, allium, hyacinth, fritillaria, curcuma, and many other bulb products. We also offer bare root peonies and roses for cut flower production.

Our products come from some of the world’s best hybridizers to US and Canadian flower farms. At this time, our customers are wholesale buyers for their businesses. We do not offer small quantities or retail sales to non-business buyers. But, many of our customers do offer our bulbs in retail packages to their local communities. Those sales help to cover their bulb bills! If you are a home gardener, reach out and ask your local flower farm about our products and see if they have some packages available for home gardeners.

Fall planted bulbs (tulips, daffodils, allium, etc) are shipped to our buyers in the fall and winter after they’ve undergone a significant manual inspection here by our team. We ship orders by the box and by freight (on pallets loaded on to tractor trailers). Orders of 15 crates of bulbs or fewer are typically “box” shipping orders. It is usually more economical for these smaller orders to be sent to buyers via FedEx, UPS, or USPS, one bulb crate per box.

Would you like to learn more about joining our wholesale platform? Submit an application for a buyer’s account today! Once we’ve approved your account, you can shop our online wholesale pre-ordering collections, check the status of your orders, pay for product and shipping invoices, and exchange notes with our team that are linked directly to your orders.

We’re so happy you’re here. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Best,

The Team at Ampersand Bulb Co.
